The Gospel is Offending, But is Not the Offense

I have a saying that goes like this:

“The Gospel, by it’s nature, to our nature, is offensive and if we are not being offended every day, we had best check to see if we are in ‘the Way.'”

Now, the Gospel is not offensive in and of itself.  Matter of fact, it is the good news, the best news that mankind can ever hear.  But, because of sin, our hearts, our minds, our entire being is offended by the Gospel. So, while the Gospel is not Offensive, our nature is offended by it.

This goes along with a blog post I read earlier today which can be found here.

  1. Amen and Amen! Thank you for sharing this! Not many people want to hear the Good News because it wounds their carnal nature. But the Gospel is the medicine that the Great Physician has prescribed to us. It is up to us whether we will accept it or not.
By the way, did you know that popular preacher, Robert Schuller is totally against preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ? I found this very interesting article about him and thought that maybe you would like to check it out and share it with others.

the article is at this address:

Thank God that there is salvation in Jesus Christ for the whole human race!
